A processional in the St. Louis (MO) Global Day of Prayer (www.praystl.org) underscores the importance and worth of people from all over the world.  Helen Howell, born in Japan of a Japanese parent, invites those born outside the United States to dress in their native attire and be in a processional as a part of the GDOP experience.  Josie Drummond, of Mexican descent, urges fellow Hispanics to be full participants in the Global Day of Prayer.  Helen reads Revelation 5:9 about a powerful part of Heaven’s activity:  And they sang a new song: "You [Jesus] are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.”  Then Josie issues an invitation to the GDOP in Spanish.  Both ladies serve as members of the St. Louis Global Day of Prayer Preparation Team under the leadership of Coordinator Charlie Fay.  The Global Day of Prayer (www.globaldayofprayer.com) was birthed in Africa and now involves millions each year in nearly every country in the world.

Career woman Laura Hunott was in a lifestyle of addictions and promiscuity.  Along the way she discovered and began to regularly listen to Bott Radio Network (www.bottradionetwork.com, heard in St. Louis, MO, on KSIV-AM & FM).  After several years the Biblical teachings became instilled in her heart and brought her joy.  She yearned for what she was hearing.  Without any contact with Christ-followers, in time Laura in prayer (2005) invited Jesus Christ to live in her life.  Laura was wonderfully changed, now experiencing complete forgiveness, inner-peace, and purpose in life.

Nathaniel “Nathan” Johnson spent altogether one-quarter century in prisons because of his crimes.  When released the last time, he was once again headed “… back to his old ways.”   It was while in a “crack” house that he “cried out to God.”  Within a couple of months his mother and ex wife led him to transforming faith in Jesus.  Nathan and his wife remarried and for several years together serve in ministry to ex-offenders.

Home school mom and Eagle Forum Alaska leader Debbie Joslin acknowledges something of a luxury for her Alaska home town of 4,000: unlike the state capitol of Juneau, they have a road in and out of town!  As a several-year friend of Governor Sarah Palin, Debbie makes for a most interesting and insightful storyteller.  In the flow of our radio conversation she brought up the fact she had had an abortion.  Now she is forgiven, is a delightful role model, and is serving as “salt and light” in her beloved Alaska … and beyond.  You can listen now.   

Playing football in three bowl games for the University of Tennessee, along with living the party life, did not bring happiness or fulfillment to Jason Julian.  In time emptiness and depression set in, accompanied by thoughts of suicide.  An encounter with Jesus Christ changed everything.  Jason now leads Urban K-life in St. Louis, MO, a ministry to the heart of the inner-city young people.  The Urban K-Life staff members are an ongoing “presence” that spends time daily “… hanging out ...” with hundreds of inner-city young people.  An ideally located former “rest” home for the elderly – valued at more than one million dollars -- was donated to the STL K-Life.  It is being remodeled to become a meeting place for the inner-city youth, as well as providing living space for their growing staff.  Hear Jason talk about his wonderfully changed life in Jesus … and the joy that now belongs to him, his wife and his staff as they give their lives for these treasured young people.
